Found Gem

Wednesday April 9, 2008:
This tie falls into the category of astonishing. It is everything I have learned to love: shiny, purple and patterned. Oh, and inexpensive. I spent the day shopping (I do other things, too.) and ended up at Marshals in Pentagon City where I was going to scoot through not planning on finding anything. This is a great idea if you weren't actually shopping, ie looking and investigating. Discovered in the tie section was a Ted Baker tie and this tie by Alby. I have always liked the pattern of glen plaid because of the formality of the texture. I had my eye on a wool one at some point, but I lost track of it and instead found this one. When I first looked at it I got excited about the pattern, but I soon discovered that there was a thread of purple woven in. On top of that it has a little bit of sheen to it. I wore it with my favorite gray suit and my cordovan shoes for a really cool classy, evening look.
